4 tips for having the BEST headshot session

  1. I recommend wearing what you would wear to a meeting with a prospective client. You certainly don’t have to dress to the nines. However, keep in mind that many times, your online presence if the FIRST impression someone will have of you….make it a GREAT one!

2. Have friends complemented you when you wear certain colors?  Consider incorporating those hues into your session. Headshots don’t have to be stuffy and it’s great to incorporate a bit of color into your images.

3. For having the best headshot session, consider a little prep work. Trying clothing on to make sure they fit properly will help relieve a bit of stress the day of your headshot. I also recommend practicing smiling in the mirror. Yes, it may seem a little silly, but helps my clients “warm up” a bit.

4. And my final tip for having the BEST photo session – communicate with me any anxiety you have.  It does help to let me know if you are self-conscious about something and there’s likely an answer. I do not offer extensive editing to bodies or faces BUT I do focus on lighting that is complimentary to skin tones and posing clients in flattering poses.  My goal is to help make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera that you feel WONDERFUL in your skin.
